Duchess of Cornwall listens to  children read as part of Silver Stories charity
Nanpean School is extremely proud of Year 6 pupil Tegen and ex-pupil Ollie for being involved in a reading project called Silver Stories. The Silver Stories charity encourages children to read to the elderly to help with loneliness.

The Duchess of Cornwall has recently become patron of this incredible charity and was treated to a telephone story time from Tegen and Ollie. They read from Roald Dahls' Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and David Walliams' The Ice Monster.

During term time the children read to the 'Silver Listeners' once a week for around five minutes, reading either a story or poem, boosting their reading confidence, fluency and expression and conversational skills.

Well done Ollie and Tegen! We are very proud of you both.
