Remembrance Day

'Always in our thoughts'
On Thursday, to commemorate Remembrance Day, our Year 6 children visited two of the village war memorials. First, the children went to the Great War memorial at the Parish Church where we laid a wreath and held a period of reflection. We then attended a Remembrance Service at the village football pitch, where the original changing rooms were erected in tribute to those who lost their lives in the Second World War. We held a 2-minute silence at 11am and listened as the names of the many men from the village who died in action were read aloud. We laid a second wreathe here besides the commemorative foundation stone of the changing rooms. The year 6 children observed the periods of reflection impeccably and were a credit to our school.
Lest We Forget

Year 1 made their own poppies and created their own artwork for Remembrance Day.
